Gaube Family from Svečina
The history of winegrowing on our farm started a few generations ago, in 1895. Much has changed since the early beginnings, yet our dedication to the vine and its wine remained undisputable.
It has always been a big challenge for us to find a common language with the unpredictable nature and enrich its gifts so as to please our own and the taste of all other wine lovers and admirers. Nowadays we are known as a producer of fresh and fruity dry wines, with nicely expressed varietal characteristics. The differences between day and night temperatures in the grape maturation period warrant freshness, a typical feature of Styrian wines.
In 2008 we decided to build a new wine cellar with the capacity of 60,000 litres, which presently tops the quantity produced on 8 hectares of our vineyards.
Our wines are mostly stored in inox containers, which gives them freshness and fruitiness. We produce the following varieties: Italian Riesling, Kerner, Pinot Blanc, Silvaner, Chardonnay, Rhine Riesling, Muscat, Sauvignon Blanc and of course the young wine called Prvenec (Debut). One of our novelties is Rosé, a cuvee of Pinot Noir, Zweigelt, and Blue Franconian. Our only variety that matures in wooden barrels is Pinot Noir, although it is offered on the market as a young and fresh wine.
We invite you to our estate for a unique wine tasting experience combined with gastronomic delights full of selected natural flavours.
