Vinag wine cellar

Cities main wine cellar tradition of viticulture and winemaking began back in 1847, when the noble lord Alojz Kriehuber became involved in viticulture and built the wine cellar for this purpose.
Today we continue its story and welcome you to enter the magical world of Vinag’s wine cellar, to discover almost two centuries of cellar and wine-making tradition underneath the streets of Maribor.
Become familiar with the unique experience of one of the biggest classic tunnel cellars in Europe, where in the centuries-old wine archive, cloaked with a patina of the past, are aging wines of special qualities and patiently wait to be discovered by you.

Take a look at more than 2 kilometers long underground corridors, which together measure 15.000 square feet of basement space, barrels and cisterns that for more than 5 million liters of wine. Learn about the history of Maribor’s enology and taste Vinag’s noble wines at the same time.
